My second season with AFL Social Media was filled with firsts — from Lance Franklin’s 8-goal haul during the first ever AFL match held at Optus Stadium, to the privilege of covering my first finals series alongside eventual Premiers, West Coast. I was again fortunate to have the license to push myself and create 198 match previews for instagram stories, game day graphics throughout the finals series, plus a bunch of bespoke content, from milestone graphics to player quotes, in an effort to generate fan engagement across the 2018 season.
